An Act to Ban the Distribution and Exhibition of Films Starring Sacha Baron Cohen

Common Union of Easway

Decree No. 2024-002

Preamble:

In line with the emergency Council's goal of eradicating colonialist thought from our shores which has led to increased ethnic violence, and in solidarity with our Kazakh cousins, and in recognition of the commitment to uphold the principles of equality, respect, and unity within the Common Union of Easway, the Easwegian Common Liberation Council hereby enacts the following decree.

Article 1: Purpose

This law seeks to address the concerns regarding the content and societal impact of films starring Sacha Baron Cohen, which have been cited as contributing to ethnic hatred and societal division, in violation of the Anti-Discrimination Act 2019.

Article 2: Prohibition

All distribution, exhibition, and public screening of films starring Sacha Baron Cohen are hereby banned within the borders of the Common Union of Easway.

This ban encompasses all forms of media, including but not limited to theaters, streaming services, and public broadcasting.

Article 3: Justification

The Council finds that the content of such films has demonstrably led to increased societal division, reports of hate crimes that align with the themes presented in these works and a iolation of the ethical standards set forth in the Anti-Discrimination Act 2019. Namely, Sacha Baron Cohen and his films display an ever present theme of Islamophobia and Western ethnic supremacy, in service of the goals of far-right organisations aligned with the colonial goals of the Government of Israel.

Article 4: Enforcement

The enforcement of this law shall be upheld by an established body of the Central Directorate of Education & Culture.

Penalties for violation of this law will include fines and the revocation of licenses for distributors and exhibitors of the prohibited films.

Article 5: Effective Date

This law shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
