Prelude

Since the establishment of the Easwegian Dawn Liberation Movement as the paramount organisation of Easway following dissolution of the Common Realm last year, we have worked hard to find our footing and firmly define our new character. Firstly, we ratified the new Charter in October 2025 which set rules for our conduct, and importantly included its own prelude to define what we are.

In 2026, four previous Directives have been released which we, the Council, are incredibly satisfied with. Yet we ask ourselves: what are our longer term goals?

It is clear that our nation needs to escape the borderless which we have inherited for the last year. What do we want?

This Directive shall help restore a sense of security and a more permanently fixed nature.

This Directive, as with the previous four, was primarily authored by His Eminence Emizerri Tannurai, Custodian of the Movement; though as is the aim with the movement, extensive discussion between the Custodian and the Council was conducted to perfect the Directive.

Defining the territory

The general agreed upon area of the Star and Crescent in yellow. Red indicates top divisions. Zones shall be chartered from within smaller areas than this. 

As written within Article II of the Easwegian Charter, the primary heartland of Easway is what we refer to as the Star and Crescent along the coasts of Varanger, alongside South and East Svalbard. This Directive shall affirm this established law and further define the boundaries of the Star and Crescent in particular. 

To do this, this Directive affords the Council the authority to establish zones within the Star and Crescent.

The zones shall be established for the purpose of chartering the internal boundaries of Easway, the names of each town, park and otherwise, and to firmly establish the furthest reaches of the territory. Notably, Ezerryen Easwegian, Pomors language and minority language translations shall be explored for each part of the Star and Crescent.

Within each zone, a person will be appointed by the Custodian. The person appointed shall be known as a zonesman. 

Zonesman shall conduct their surveys with reference to the ECLC style guide and the historical, linguistic and cultural heritage of the region.

The established boundaries shall be for internal use and does not effect the terms laid out within the July 1st 2025 Declaration.

The Futures of Kola and Karelia

Easwegian Dawn maintains the position that Kola and Karelia are lands of the indigenous Finnic people, such as the Finns, the Karelians, the Sámi and the Kven. 

Furthermore, Easwegian Dawn maintains that Norwegians have rights to coinhabit once again the Murman Coast of Kola, so named after Norwegians. 

Easwegian Dawn thus asserts that real autonomy should be afforded to Karelia and Kola, and that the regions should once again become thriving land which includes the peoples aforementioned which once made up a significant importance within its communities.

This long-term vision for Kola and Karelia is the horizon towards which the work of this Directive—the naming and claiming of our Star and Crescent—is the first tangible step.

Final Provisions 

This Directive enters into effect upon publication.

The Five Pillars of Easwegian Society

 The Five Pillars of Easwegian Society Authored by Emizerri Tannurai, interim Custodian of the Presidium of Easwegian Dawn Work on the Easwegian Charter, a document which will give clarity and help guide Easwegians in their temporary life outside of the shelter of an Easwegian state, has fully began. I have been working closely with you, the public, and many of our esteemed nestors to create a code for Easwegians to live by.
